Gebhard Sengmüller is a visual artist working in the field of media technology who lives and works in Vienna.
Since 1992 he has developed projects and installations that deal with the background of electronic media, retroactively change media history, dismantle and reassemble media technologies, and construct autogenerative systems and networks.
His work has been shown widely in Europe, America and Asia, including at venues such as Ars Electronica Linz, the Biennale di Venezia, the Institute of Contemporary Arts London, Postmasters Gallery New York, the Museum of Contemporary Photography Chicago, the microwave Festival Hong Kong and the InterCommunication Center Tokyo.
