Darius Edlinger

The Viennese artist, musician, composer and producer Darius Edlinger alias Dandario creates atmospheres by using piano and specifically set drum patterns, which drive and inspire. He combines selected melodies, musical know-how and innovative beats to create captivating worlds of music.
His electronic music leads skilfully over broad synthesizer layers, sequences of melodies with changing structures and setups into an aesthetics that is audibly jazzy, but also classical.
Among others he performed live at the Sound:frame Festival and as main act of the renowned ImPulsTanz Festival. His compositions were airplay rotated on Radio FM4.

His latest collaboration with violinist Aleksey Igudesman reinterprets one of Beethoven's most famous works, "Für Elise", and puts it in a new modern light, discreetly quoting the classical theme with a minimalist approach. Other commissions by Hyung-ki Joo for a Beethoven cycle in collaboration with the Oslo Philharmonic followed. His musical work was awarded the CCA Award 2020 in the category Music & Sound Design.

Furthermore, Edlinger was commissioned to realize a surround sound installation for the Art Basel Miami. Most recently, his sound installation "Reprise" could be experienced as part of Art Week Vienna at gallery rauminhalt_harald bichler.
