Schalentier ST 26
Konrad Friedel, Kleinneusiedl, Austria
Bronzed steel, synthetic resin lacquer
52 x 14 x 20 cm
Friedel created his Schalentiere while experimenting with the cut-out parts of metal balls. He developed a complex technique to reassemble the shells into compelling “Tiere” (animals). Vivid colours accentuate the contrast between the inside and the outside of those illuminated crustaceans.
