With blurred contours (Mit verwackelnden Konturen)
New paintings by Bernhard Hausegger: a faceless drake, two Mickey Mice and a shooting rabbit populate the canvases. They are the most tangible protagonists of Hausegger's world of images. Sometimes the figurative is reduced to body fragments or silhouettes that attempt to locate themselves in the garishly colored rooms. However, this is not at all easy; the perspectives change effortlessly in the paintings, they anchor the figures and penetrate them, and sometimes even let them fly. What is foreground and what is background cannot be easily determined here. Around the corner, please.
The cute has slipped out of control. A figure which has been sketched with just a few brushstrokes is reaching its oversized hand, which mysteriously seems to liquefy. Wonder what he touched before?
Imagination as both escape and possibility. And in the end it's all about painting.

Mit verwackelnden Konturen
Neue Bilder von Bernhard Hausegger: ein gesichtsloser Erpel, zwei einander zugetane Mickymäuse und ein schießender Hase bevölkern die Leinwände. Sie sind die fassbarsten Protagonisten der Bilderwelt Hauseggers. Manchmal reduziert sich das Figurative auf Körperfragmente oder Silhouetten, die sich in den grellbunten Räumen zu verorten versuchen. Doch das ist gar nicht so einfach, die Perspektiven wechseln mühelos im Bild, verankern die Figuren und durchdringen sie, lassen sie manchmal auch fliegen. Was hier Vorder- oder Hintergrund ist, das lässt sich nicht ohne weiteres festmachen. Um die Ecke bitte.
Das Niedliche hat sich der Kontrolle entzogen. Ein mit wenigen Strichen skiziertes Männchen reicht die übergroße Hand, die sich rätselhaft zu verflüssigen scheint. Was hat der wohl vorher angefasst?
Die Phantasie als Flucht und Möglichkeit. Und letztlich geht es hier um Malerei.
